Ceramic Coating

A nano-ceramic barrier that bonds permanently to your paint and repels everything.

The Service

What Is Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to the paint surface, forming a hard, hydrophobic layer. Unlike wax or sealant, it doesn't wash off, it becomes part of the surface. The result is a semi-permanent shield against UV, chemicals, water spotting, and light scratches.

Why It Matters

Key Benefits

Hydrophobic Surface

Water beads and sheets off. Dirt and grime have less to bond to, washing is faster and less abrasive.

UV & Oxidation Protection

Ceramic blocks UV radiation that breaks down paint chemistry, causing oxidation, fading, and chalking.

Chemical Resistance

Resists bird droppings, bug acids, road salt, and industrial fallout that would etch unprotected paint.

Enhanced Gloss

The hard, flat surface reflects light more uniformly, producing a deeper, wetter gloss than bare paint.

Our Process

The Coating Process

Every ceramic job starts with paint correction. You can't coat defects into the paint, they have to be removed first.

Paint correction polishing at Revibe Auto Styling

Paint Correction

We correct any swirls or defects before coating. Ceramic locks in the surface condition, defects corrected first, not after.

Decontamination

Clay bar and chemical decontamination remove bonded surface contamination that would prevent proper adhesion.

Panel Wipe

An IPA panel wipe removes all oils and residue, leaving a chemically clean surface for coating adhesion.

Coating Application

Ceramic is applied panel by panel in controlled sections and leveled before cure begins.

Flash & Cure

The coating flashes to a hardened state under studio conditions. Full cure continues over 7–14 days.

Is It Right For You?

Who Should Get Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating is right for anyone who wants to protect their paint long-term with minimal ongoing maintenance. Particularly valuable on new or freshly corrected paint. If your paint has existing defects, correction is completed first.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

How long does ceramic coating last?

Professional-grade ceramic coatings typically last 3–7 years, depending on the product tier, maintenance routine, and environmental exposure. Entry-level coatings fall in the 2–3 year range, while premium multi-layer systems can exceed 8 years when washed properly and parked away from harsh UV when possible.

Does ceramic coating prevent scratches?

It provides resistance to light scratches and swirls but is not a substitute for PPF. Heavy impacts can still damage the coating and the paint below.

Can I apply ceramic coating over PPF?

Yes, and it's recommended. Ceramic on PPF adds hydrophobic properties and makes maintenance significantly easier.

How do I maintain a ceramic coated car?

Wash with pH-neutral shampoo, avoid brush-based automatic car washes, and apply a maintenance spray topper periodically.

Does my paint need to be corrected before ceramic coating?

If your paint has visible swirls, scratches, or oxidation, yes. Ceramic amplifies the surface condition. It makes good paint look better and bad paint look worse.

Long Island Expertise

SERVING LONG ISLAND

Long Island's climate throws everything at your paint: ocean salt air from both shores, UV intensity during summer months, and road salt contamination from November through March. A ceramic coating applied at our Ronkonkoma studio creates a chemically bonded barrier that neutralizes all three. The hydrophobic surface repels salt-laden water before it can etch into clear coat, which is a critical protection for any vehicle driven year-round in Nassau or Suffolk County.

We serve the full Long Island market, Smithtown, Commack, Bay Shore, Farmingdale, and everywhere between. Our ceramic coating work frequently follows paint correction on vehicles that have spent years in the Island's wash-and-go car wash culture. If your paint has swirls from automatic washes, we correct first and coat second, that's the only sequence that makes sense for Long Island's high-UV, high-salt environment.
