Glass Coating

Hydrophobic glass treatment that clears rain at speed and resists mineral deposits over time.

The Service

What Is Glass Coating?

Glass coating is a ceramic or fluoropolymer treatment applied to automotive glass surfaces. It bonds to the glass and creates a hydrophobic layer that causes water to bead and clear at speed, reduces wiper dependency, and resists the micro-abrasions and mineral deposits that cloud glass over time.

Why It Matters

Key Benefits

Water Clearing at Speed

At highway speeds, water clears the windshield without wipers. Visibility improves significantly in heavy rain.

Reduced Wiper Dependency

Less wiper use means less wiper streaking, less blade wear, and cleaner glass between washes.

Mineral Deposit Resistance

Coated glass resists water spot etching and mineral deposits from hard water, a persistent problem in the Northeast.

Easier Cleaning

Bug splatter, bird droppings, and road grime release more readily from coated glass.

Our Process

How It's Applied

Glass Prep

Glass is cleaned and polished to remove existing water spots and mineral deposits before coating.

Chemical Prep

An IPA wipe ensures a contaminant-free surface for proper coating adhesion.

Application

Coating is applied in overlapping passes and buffed to a uniform finish on each glass surface.

Cure & Test

Coating cures and is inspected under lighting. A water bead test confirms hydrophobic performance.

Is It Right For You?

Who Should Get This?

Right for anyone who frequently drives in rain, has hard water spots on their glass, or wants to reduce windshield maintenance. Often bundled with PPF or ceramic packages for a complete surface protection treatment.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

How long does glass coating last?

Typically 1–3 years depending on product and how frequently the vehicle is driven in rain and washed.

Can I use Rain-X after glass coating?

Avoid Rain-X and similar topical products on coated glass, they can degrade the coating. The coating itself outperforms these products significantly.

Will it work with my existing wipers?

Yes, standard wiper blades work normally on coated glass. Most customers find they use wipers far less often.

Long Island Expertise

SERVING LONG ISLAND

Long Island drivers deal with rain, salt spray, and intense summer UV that degrade untreated auto glass faster than in inland markets. The combination of ocean proximity from both the North and South Shore and the Island's heavy rain seasons makes glass coating especially valuable here. A hydrophobic glass coating applied at our Ronkonkoma studio sheds water at highway speeds, critical on the LIE and Southern State Parkway where visibility in rain is directly tied to safety.

We apply glass coating as a standalone service or as an add-on to ceramic coating and PPF installations for customers throughout Nassau and Suffolk County. Smithtown, Hauppauge, Commack, and the surrounding communities get brutal UV exposure from spring through fall, the UV-blocking properties of our glass treatment protect interior plastics and reduce eye strain on those east-west commutes where the sun hits the windshield directly.

Coverage Area

Located at 1951 Ocean Ave, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779.
Serving all of Nassau and Suffolk County.
